Performance

Two types of engines are available with the 2024 Ram 4500 for Mineral Wells drivers. First, there is the 6.7-liter Cummins turbo diesel. It generates 360 horsepower and 800 pound-feet of torque. That is enough to tow a maximum of 29,370 lbs. or to pull a gross weight of 37,500 lbs. Second, there is the 6.4-liter Hemi V-8 gasoline engine. It yields 370 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque. You can trailer 21,150 lbs. or pull a gross weight as high as 28,500 lbs.

A seven-pin wiring harness allows you to connect many types of standard trailers. You can also connect an aftermarket apparatus. A trailer brake controller is standard on the two highest trims and optional on the two lowest. A two-mode system with an up-fit camera is available, too.

Ram equips every 4500 with a four-wheel ABS. Ready-alert braking is standard, too. Ask about the optional smart diesel exhaust setup if you need more braking power.

Businesses can purchase the 4500 as a rear- or four-wheel drive. Off-road packages with skid plating are also available on the two highest trims.

You can purchase the 4500 with one of three fuel tank configurations. There is the standard setup with a rear tank that stores 52 gallons. You can also order a 4500 with a 22-gallon midship tank. Finally, there is a version with the 52- and 22-gallon tanks.

Exterior

The Ram 4500 is available in two- and four-door models. The truck has a large grille in black or chrome trims. It has wide side mirrors that telescope and fold. The two lowest trims have black wheel well covers, while the two highest trims feature the body paint color. The only wheel size for the 4500 is 19.5 inches, but four different wheels are available for Granbury and Cleburne drivers.

Numerous low-volume body colors are available on the two lowest trims. Bear in mind that you may need to place an order to get these colors due to limited availability. There are also seven standard body colors available across the lineup.

Interior

Dark colors are standard for the 4500's interior, although a contrasting gray and black scheme is available. Silver accents give the interior class. A digital instrument panel and infotainment screen also add a tech-friendly vibe. Hard knobs are present, so you can control functions like audio volume and heater speed without looking at the touchscreen.

Multiple cab sizes are available. The smallest two-door setup can seat up to three people, while the four-door configuration seats five.

Trims

The Workman is the base trim, and the SLT represents an upward move in comfort. The Laramie and Limited are the feature-rich versions with luxury options.

Tech

You can choose a five-, 8.4- or twelve-inch infotainment display. The system uses Ram's Uconnect software, and navigation is optionally available. Audio options range from a four-speaker system to a premium 17-speaker Harmon Kardon setup. USB charging is available.

Safety

Lane-keeping, forward-collision, and rear parking systems are available. You can also order a backup camera system. Adaptive cruise control with stopping is optional.
